The treatment of Chronic Congestive Heart Failure (CCHF):

 Cardiac Inotropic Therapy

Inotropic therapy is used to stimulate an injured or weakened heart to pump harder to send blood through the body. They help the force of the heart muscle’s contractions and relax constricted blood vessels so blood can flow more smoothly. Inotropic therapy may also speed up the heart’s rhythm.

Dobutamine and milrinone are intravenous medications that will be administered by an infusion pump.

The Center for the Performing Hearts offers a program focused specifically on the delivery inotropic IV therapy, supporting overall improvement in quality of life, while servicing these patients in an alternative setting, away from the hospital.
